    This isn’t quite the same as the “villainess” isn’t really a main character.

    This is a dual world story where one of the potential love interests in the “game world” is able to hear the comments of two people playing the game in the “real world” during certain “game scenes”, and they work together to create a new happy ending.

    Having read the light novels, I’m trying to avoid any real spoilers, but there also the story of the two players in the “real world”, and the series does eventually give an explanation for how and why the worlds are connected the way that they are. (I don’t know if the anime will try to cover the complete story, but it is only two novels long.)
